Shadowlawn Bed & Breakfast
The builder of Shadowlawn, Benjamin Catley, was born in England.
He bought an entire city block from the Franklin School for $9.00
with the stipulation that it be paid for before sundown that day.
The home was modernized in the 1920s. The Avakians, the current
owners, have made further restorations, including new plumbing,
wiring, central air and natural gas heat. Guests of this B&B
will enjoy a sauna and exercise room, as well as a self-contained
guest house in the backyard.
