Painted Lady of Columbus

504 Fifth Street South
Built in 1890 for T.O. Burris and his wife, Dollie, the
vibrantly painted home is an excellent example of Queen Anne
architecture. Mr. Burris was proprietor of a downtown mercantile
store and served as president of the Tombigbee Cotton Mill. Their
home is now open to you for your stay in Columbus.
Located one block south of downtown, four blocks from the
Riverwalk, and six blocks from the campus of Mississippi University
for Women, the Painted Lady of Columbus provides a convenient
departure point for any event or attraction Columbus offers. Come
see for yourself why visitors have called the hospitality they
experienced during their stay the "true spirit of Mississippi."
